Fraser & Jo | Glencoe Winter Elopement

Fraser and Jo’s dreamy winter Elopement in the Scottish Highlands was an absolute dream. We had Glencoe & Glen Etive pretty much all to ourselves and it truly was magical.

As Nathan and I drove up to Glencoe the night before we had butterflies in our stomachs. We just KNEW this elopement was going to be something special. As we drove through Glencoe in the dark I thought I could see a hint of snow on the mountain peaks.

We headed to the cabins Fraser and Jo were staying in as they were popping the Champagne and getting ready. You could feel the excitement and emotions in the air. They spent the morning taking it slow, having breakfast and Jo was having her hair and Makeup done by the wonderful AMM Team. We love relaxed mornings and just taking it slow and getting to know couples’ family and friends. Jo’s parents live in Turkey so they’d flown over and quarantined for 2 weeks just so they could be be with their daughter on her wedding day and that was just so special. Fraser and Jo had also brought along their best four legged pal - Ruth and what an angel she was. Lucy the wonderful florist had even made a floral collar for her - so precious! When people bring their dogs to their Elopements it melts my heart.

We then headed an hour down the road to Glen Etive which is just such a special place. Nathan and I had our engagement photos taken there so we hold it very close to our hearts, and Harry Potter & James Bond are all filmed down there too. And every single time we go we’re completely blown away. The ceremony took place below a beautiful tree, looking out over the loch and the sun was shining so beautifully into our lenses. It felt like something out of a fairytale.

The ceremony wrapped up with a big cheer, more Champagne & some well deserved snacks. Before heading back to their lodges to eat their delicious cake we took a leisurely drive back to the Three Sisters, stopping off in a couple of beautiful spots to take their photos.

As we said our goodbyes, Nathan and I sat in the car beaming. This is why we do what we do. Their day was full of love and joy and was a true testament to love is not cancelled. Life during a pandemic is hard but having the most wonderful couples who have just had their eyes focused on marriage has just been the most beautiful thing to witness.
