We’re Joanna & Nathan — An Elopement Photography & Videography Team based on the **Isle of Skye, Scotland** — We are deeply inspired by human connection, storytelling and art. Scotland is our home and we’ll never get over the beauty of the mountains and beaches Scotland has to offer.

OUR JOURNEY TO BECOMING STORYTELLERS

A little bit of a background on me, Joanna: My mum studied art, my dad plays the piano, one of my sisters is a ceramicist, the other is also a photographer - I come from a very arty background so it was pretty inevitable I would end up doing something arty too!
Growing up I always loved taking photos. I remember getting a little Lumix point and shoot camera when I was younger and I just loved taking pictures of flowers. I ended up studying Photography for one of my A-Levels and that’s where I learnt a lot of the basics of using a ‘real’ camera and all about film photography.
I went on to train as an Actor & Director at Drama School where my love for storytelling really grew. So coming out of Drama School having had my camera by my side the whole time it just so happened that I ended up merging the two things I love most - taking photos and storytelling and turning it into a business.
Nathan has always been fond of filming and turning our own memories into videos. It was only a matter of time before he’d join me and start capturing memories for other people too. I’ve been photographing stories for over 12 years now, Nathan’s been filming for 11+ years and we’ve now been working together combining the two as Elopement Photographers here in Scotland for over 7 years.
We moved to the Isle of Skye in the Summer of 2023 and have loved getting to call this beautiful Island home. We recently bought a cottage here & rescued a dog from Serbia (her name is Suki and she is our whole world). We love getting to show people this beautiful corner of the earth & capture special memories here!

Forever inspired by the people I love…

My Grandparents were and are my favourite people and I have always loved looking through their old photographs. The text below is part of a poem my Grandad Ken wrote for my Grandma Lily-May in a letter he wrote to her before their wedding. They’ve both passed away now and the photos I have of them are all the more precious now.

The Photo on the Tandem Bike is my Grandma Shirley & my Grandad John - they will forever be my greatest inspiration. They now wear outfits that match and just are the sweetest humans ever. They came to stay with us on Skye recently and absolutely loved being in the mountains and by the beach.

Joanna — She/Her

Meet Joanna - the one who’ll be Photographing you!

I’m Joanna — I’m 29 years old, an INFP Myers Briggs Personality Type and an Enneagram 4w3.
I’m deeply inspired by human connection, music, art, film, theatre & the earth. I feel most at peace and connected to God and the earth up in the mountains or by the sea.
I love nature - at this point I think ferns are part of my personality! Even though I hate being cold and I hate the dark, the Scottish Winters will always be my favourite season and I always feel so inspired during winter time - any excuse to wrap up in warm jumpers, snuggle up in a blanket and drink hot drinks. I love animals especially the dogs in my life - My family dog Smudge & my sisters two rescues, Yarrow & Pipi.
When we’re not out photographing or editing you’ll usually find me at the beach or on a wee wander. Nature really feeds my soul and I truly feel most at peace by the sea or amongst the trees. If it’s raining outside though I’ll most likely be inside with a cup of tea & reading Mary Oliver Poetry or Crocheting.
Nathan is my soul mate & truly am so grateful to know how it feels to love and be loved. To get to walk through life and art together is a gift.
in 2025 I was diagnosed with a Chronic Illness which has completely tipped my world upside down and it’s taught me that my job and my ability to capture life as it happens is a gift to be cherished. Life is so delicate. Moments pass us by in the blink of an eye and the empath in me just wants to turn memories into art.
I know the fragility of time and I know the deep importance of photographs. The photographs and videos I have of those I love most in my life are my most precious amulets.
We all deserve to have something tangible to hold onto from moments both sentimental and mundane. There is so much beauty in daily rhythms, be that a morning dog walk or a cosy cup of tea, as well as significant moments in life such as Eloping. I hope I can give to you art that is tangible.

Meet Nathan - the one who’ll be Filming you!

I’m Nathan, and I’m 29 years old.
I love all things vinyl, coffee, baking and plants! Over the past couple of years I’ve really found that slowing down and being intentional and purposeful in all that I do, has helped my desire and creativity to come out.
All the things I mentioned I liked doing above require patience and the appreciation for the process of the art, which is very much how I see filming, editing and working with you lovely couples!
I feel most at peace in the wilderness. Somewhere where there is no chaotic outside world and where I can just breathe in the fresh air. We hope to one day, in the not too distant future, to move to the Isle of Skye and cultivate a slow life!
I’m heavily inspired and always in awe of the epic Scottish landscapes. I always have my filming head on when we are out and about thinking about how amazing our couples would look in certain spots and what composition would bring out the best of the scenery and your story!
I’m also deeply in love with cinema. The initial desire to be a filmmaker came from watching hours and hours of cinematic masterpieces, whether it’s the composition, storytelling, colour or content, I fell instantly in love with the filmmaking world, and I want to be able to portray that passion in my films for our couples!

MEET SUKI

Suki | Our Serbian Rescue Dog

Suki was found on a mountain in Serbia and taken in by an old lady who looked after her until she no longer could which is how she found herself in the pound.
They named her Belka which is the Serbian version of Smudge or Patch which felt very cute but we knew we wanted to give her a fresh start here and so we chose the name Suki.
When we saw her ad posted in Balkan Underdogs we just immediately fell in love with her and it was around about the same time we’d put an offer in on the house we now call home so we just went for it.
We got the keys for the house at the end of March 2026 and at the end of June 2026 Suki made her journey by bus from Serbia to France, then caught the ferry to England and then continued her journey in the bus to Glasgow where we drove down from Skye to to pick her up.
She is the sweetest gentlest soul and has already brought so much joy to our lives.
