I LOVE the transition between spring time and summer time where the days get longer.
On Monday, Nathan and I had the day off work so we spent the morning clearing and cleaning his flat out as it was time to say goodbye to Uni Living. So after a lot of traipsing up and down the 3 flights of stairs to his flat, we decided to unwind we’d take a little road trip (a 45 minute drive) to the Pentland Hills for a wander.
Our friends had mentioned to us before how beautiful it was and MAN OH MAN it did NOT disappoint. For me I feel most peaceful when I’m around nature in the Countryside and this really did calm me. At the moment I’m working an office job and the things that get to me the most about it is that I’m missing daylight, fresh air and exercise (this is lowkey my main excuse for wanting to get a dog). So just being able to walk and take it all in has been so incredibly refreshing.
Nathan and I are always talking about our goals and we’ll jokingly be like ‘we’ll buy a mansion and put it on air BnB’, don’t get me wrong - that’s a dream and a half, but to be completely honest my main goal in life is to be able to spend days like how we spent this day. Walking through the countryside, JAWDROPPED at God’s creations along side my Husband (+ babies and a Dog).
This view literally had me SHOOK. As we only went for an hour we didn’t have much time to explore so we’ve agreed next time we have a day off on a nice day, we’ll take a picnic and go adventuring. Somewhere over the hills there is apparently a plane wreck and a castle (which is privately owned).
Again with the views. This reservoir was so blue and clean. We saw a couple of people who were training for a triathlon go for a little swim.
Nathan & I also took our tripod with us so we could take some snaps of ourselves. At the moment I’m obsessed with blurry photos and I managed to take a few so I’m happy. We’re still learning how to use my new camera so for the time being we just popped a timer on and ran back into the shot.
This was the first attempt before I realised the timer was on 5 seconds rather than 10. But either way I still really like this photo because its an accidental candid one of us!
We then wandered a little further down the reservoir where we tried to get some blurry dancing pics. At the moment I am also OBSESSED with black and white photos so I’m also loving the combo of blurry and black and white.
We had such a good time. I CANNOT wait to spend more days in places I love with people I love. In just under 3 months Nathan and I will be married and we are so excited to start this new season of our lives together and see where God takes us.
Nathan has also been picking up my camera more often lately. So heres a couple of the shots he snapped of me on this little day trip.
